We had a great week!

Last week was fantastic at VLS. On Monday the Admissions Office hosted our annual Visiting Day for Admitted Candidates. There were about 120 admits and over 190 total guests on campus for the day. Everyone had fun meeting future classmates, attending classes, wandering around campus getting to know the VLS community. Rain held off until noon, so I considered the day to also be a weather success!

A highlight of Earth Week each year is the local 5th grade performance of The Lorax at VLS. Once again the kids performed brilliantly for a capacity audience.

Last evening was our Black Law Student Association (BLSA) soiree to celebrate graduating students. I was honored to be invited to participate and to say a few words. In my short message, I reminded the students of the passion in their soul that brought them to law school. I reminded them to always retain that passion as they go through the bar exam and into the professional world. It was a beautiful and moving event.

This was the first of many graduation celebration events. As the one who admitted these students to VLS, it is with mixed emotions that I watch them leave. It’s like a Mom thing!
