Thanksgiving Tradition at VLS

First of all, the Open House was fantastic.  Despite heavy rain from Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ida, we had a record number of enthusiastic participants.  Thanks to the VLS staff, students and faculty for your assistance.

Each year at VLS we have a tradition of hosting and sponsoring a community Thanksgiving dinner.  This is the email invitation that went out to the VLS community this week.

This is our 12th Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner.  Vermont Law School, The Cafe and Fitz-Vogt, Town of Royalton and South Royalton, surrounding community residents and businesses have sponsored the free dinner.  The Thanksgiving dinner is held in the Chase Center and the meals to be delivered are packaged to-go in The Cafe in the morning.  We are seeking volunteers to help prepare the stuffing, squash and potatoes at the United Church of South Royalton, On the Green; Monday and Tuesday (Nov. 23 & 24) from 1:00-7:00 PM; and on Thursday (Nov 26) morning, volunteers (approximately 10:00 AM arrival) to deliver meals to the list of residents in surrounding towns; volunteers (8:30 AM to 2:30 PM or in AM & PM shifts) to “work” and coordinate the dinners to go.  We are still in need of cranberry sauce, pies and rolls to be donated and the items may be delivered Mon, Tues and Wed from 8:30-2:00 PM to the Cafe.   We have served in the past approximately 350+ dinners each year and we appreciate your help.  Students who will be here for Thanksgiving are encouraged to have dinner and participate, the more the merrier.
Again the dinner is served from Noon to 1:30 PM.
