Jobs Summit for Students This Saturday

With all the turmoil in the job market, applicants and students are understandibly nervous about their prospects for employment after graduation.  One initiative that our Career Services Office is sponsoring is a Jobs Summit.  The schedule looks great:

2010 Legal Hiring Trends: Where the Jobs Are and What You Should Be Doing to Land One

Discussion of the changes that are occurring in the legal job market as well as the types of opportunities that have helped launch VLS graduates in challenging times

  • Ingrid Busson ’99 – Associate General Counsel, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank

Ingrid will address opportunities that are available at firms and private companies.

  • Derek Campbell ’06 – Attorney-Advisor, NOAA Office of General Counsel for International Law, DC

Derek will address opportunities with the federal government and in international law

  • Kate Garrett ’95 – Legal Analyst, Office of Massachusetts Inspector General, Boston, MA

Kate will speak about opportunities with state government and state legislatures, drawing on her previous experience as General Counsel for the MA Senate Committee on Global Warming, as well as opportunities with land trusts, drawing on her 8 years of experience with The Trust for Public Land
