VLS Partnership with China

The VLS Partnership with Chinese law schools continues to flourish with growing opportunities for our students.  Two second year students will be the inaugural participants in our exchange program with Renmin University of China School of Law and will spend the spring semester in Beijing.  A 3L is currently doing a Semester‑in‑Practice at the Beijing Arbitration Commission.  Another student has been selected as the China Partnership’s annual intern at WWF‑Hong Kong, and we have just created another annual internship at the China Environmental Forum at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C.  Six additional Vermont Law School students will travel to China to meet their joint research partners and present papers at Sun Yat‑sen University in Guangzhou and China University of Political Science and Law and Renmin University in Beijing.

VLS students with interests in China, Chinese Environmental Law and/or elementary Chinese language skills come together in weekly gatherings on campus to have discussions, share relevant articles and independent projects and hear presentations from our Chinese visiting scholars.
