Annual Norman Williams Lecture – All Are Invited

This is a reminder that Vicki Been will be delivering the Eighth Annual Norman Williams Distinguished Lecture in Land Use Planning and the Law on Thursday, February 2, 2012, in the Chase Center.   Vicki is the Boxer Family Professor of Law at NYU Law School and the Director of its Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy.   She is a distinguished teacher and scholar who has focused a lot of her attention recently on the effects of the foreclosure crisis and recent developments in land use planningand regulation.  Her talk will focus on New York City, which is traditionally recognized as the first city in the country to adopt zoning, and its recent massive overhaul of its zoning regulations and the implications and lessons of this experience for land use policy nationwide.

A reception will follow the lecture in the Chase Center.
